Quick fix to keep your laptop from overheating/ Measures to fix an overheating laptop
Major cause of overheating:
In most of the cases, laptops overheat because the fan beneath is blocked due to the dust, which in turn might result in the failure of the hard drive.
Go through these very simple and quick methods to keep your laptop cooler and running efficiently:
Where and how to place the laptop
Always try to keep your laptop away from the direct sunlight. It will prevent your battery from getting damaged.
Don’t use your laptop on soft surfaces such as sofa or a pillow and avoid placing any type of cloth beneath the laptop. This will prevent the vents beneath from getting blocked and will keep the sufficient airflow reducing the risk of overheating.
Place it on a hard and flat surface. At the same time, keep it a little tilted by placing some object under the laptop’s battery. This elevation allows air to flow beneath the laptop, keeping it quite cool. Ensure whichever object you are placing is not blocking the vents of the fan at the bottom
Use laptop desks
When we put the laptop on our lap, we restrict airflow, transferring all the heat to our legs instead of moving it out. Here, the lap desks are helpful. They will keep your computer cool, and will keep your legs from getting burnt. Buy a laptop cooling mat or risers, computer stands, that have ventilation.
These are the few fancy and expensive options but one can anytime use a book or a stand or any other hard object from the corner of your house to keep your laptop cool
Clean the laptop fan
Get the laptop fan cleaned at the regular intervals or if you are well versed with your laptop system you can unscrew the case, find the fan, and clean it blowing the compressed air.
But, before you start doing anything by yourself, make sure you disconnect the power supply, shutdown the computer and remove the battery.
Remember, your safety first!
