replacement battery for Inspiron 1545
I have an aging Inspiron 1545 which is good for what I want but the battery needs replacing. I am in Dubai and the local Dell resellers are asking stupid money for a new battery.
I have searched online for a replacement battery and have found one from UK where the stated voltage of the new battery has increased to 14.8V from 10.8V while the capacity is down from 48Wh to 28Wh
Anything else I should be aware of before I buy and plug a higher rated battery
I’m concerned the increased voltage is not appropriate for my laptop – 40% higher – why? What effect does the capacity have
The best and easiest way (not always the cheapest) to get a Genuine Dell battery is to order directly from Dell. Genuine Dell batteries DO exist on eBay, they’re just difficult to find.
